About Tenaya

Hi dear one! I’m an Intuitive Dreamwork Practitioner and teacher based in Sonoma County, California.

My name, Tenaya, means “One who dreams" or "dreamer of wisdom" in the Ahwahnechee language of the people people who traditionally lived in the Yosemite Valley and still live in surrounding area, and it has always felt like my calling. My parents chose this name for me, and they nurtured my interest in dreams and art since I was a little girl.

For the past seven years I have guided hundreds of students & clients through the inner realms of dreaming through Intuitive Dreaming classes, workshops and private sessions.

In 2018, I taught 2 workshops at Spirit Weavers Gathering: “Dreaming with the Ancestors” & “The Art of Kairomancy, Guiding Life by Synchronicity and Dreams.

I have studied dream work with Robert Moss, the creator of Active Dreaming, and completed his three-year Dream Teacher Training Program.

I’m also an artist, Personal Branding Photographer and Web Designer, and I’m devoted to my ancestors, and the animate, living world. I live in an intentional community in Sonoma County, CA where I enjoy tending chickens, talking to the hummingbirds, and learning to play piano.

Five quirky facts about me:

  1. I’ve always been into the witchy and the woo. As a little girl, my favorite game was playing “witches”. I would hold onto the branches of my favorite apple tree and travel to far away lands, especially the Crystal Cavern.

  2. I’m a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). For most of my life I didn’t know this was a thing, I just knew that I seemed to feel and sense more than other people. I could read people’s emotions as well as the physical spaces I was in. I know now it’s one of my superpowers, and goes hand-in-hand with the rapture I feel taking in the beauty of the ocean or forest, an art exhibit, or a song that completely sweeps me away. In my business, I use my high sensitivity and intuition to tune into my client’s energy and the unique essence of their offerings so I can create in resonance with their authentic energy.

  3. I lived in the jungle at a yoga retreat center on the Big Island of Hawaii when I was 22. I swam daily in the ocean, danced in a wild sculpted cement temple enshrined with countless altars, and rode my bike under majestic Ohia trees to the small town where I was painting a mural. I also did a lot of yoga, ate endless coconuts, and floated in thermally-heated warm ponds under the stars with palm fronds gently rustling overhead.

  4. I’m a trained Dreamwork Practitioner and teacher. I’ve been obsessed with my dreams since I was a little girl and began recording them before I could even write (I would dictate them to my mom). I love sharing this work with people in classes, workshops and private sessions. It’s a sacred and intimate experience guiding my clients and students into material that is bubbling from their most authentic selves, and supporting them to take tangible actions in daily life based on the messages their dreams are sending.

  5. I’m a devoted plant person. I talk to the green friends I meet on my daily walks, I commune with trees, and I’m constantly sipping herbal tinctures, Spagyrics, and flower essences. Totally an animist earth-worshipper over here!
